About Kaitlin

Kaitlin works as a clinical psychologist and a psychology board-approved supervisor. She enjoys supporting adults on their path to healing by helping them to develop a more understanding and compassionate relationship with themselves, their bodies and their struggles. She supports people to reflect on their unique and universal humanness which she hopes helps them to cultivate greater self-acceptance. She believes these processes help with getting unstuck and moving towards sustainable, meaningful and values-aligned change.

Kaitlin has worked as a senior clinician coordinating outpatient and inpatient programs across several public and private specialist eating disorder services in Geelong and Melbourne. Some of her other experience includes working on a general mental health inpatient program and on an outpatient comprehensive DBT program.

Alongside drawing on lived experience perspectives to inform her work, Kaitlin uses a range of evidence-based treatments, such as cognitive behaviour therapy – enhanced (CBT-E), dialectical behaviour therapy for eating disorders (DBT-E) and specialist clinical supportive management (SSCM). Additionally, she enjoys integrating elements of mindfulness-based and compassion-focused approaches into treatment.

Regardless of the treatment modality, she believes developing a genuine and authentic therapeutic relationship; built on presence, collaboration, trust, and safety, is integral. Some values that underpin her approach include: openness, connection, curiosity, courage, kindness, growth, hope, and respect.

Kaitlin endeavours for her work with people to be person-centred, trauma-informed and weight neutral. She welcomes diversity and strives to create a safe space for those she supports; one that is inclusive, affirming and accommodating of the diverse and intersecting aspects of a person’s identity.
