Psychology services for eating disorder recovery, mental health and a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
Therapy that’s not about ‘fixing’ you but helping you understand yourself better.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply curious about what’s driving certain patterns in your life, you don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out.
Psychological therapy at Eat Love Live offers a space to slow down, make sense of things, and build the kind of insight and skills that create lasting change—not just symptom management.
Our work together will honour the full picture of what has shaped you: your relationships, your lived experience, your identity, your body, and the systems you’ve moved through.
Because mental health doesn’t exist in isolation.
Psychological care that sees the whole person.
Our psychologists practise from a weight-inclusive, non-diet, and non-stigmatising framework. Which is particularly important for people navigating eating disorders, body image distress, or weight-based discrimination in healthcare.
All sessions are trauma-informed and person-centred, with an integrated approach that draws on evidence-based therapies and genuine care in equal measure.
You set the goals.
You lead the pace.
The work evolves with you.
As part of a multidisciplinary practice, our psychologists can work closely with your dietitian, physiotherapist, GP, or other practitioners when it’s clinically useful—without you having to translate between teams.
Therapy at Eat Love Live is:
- Collaborative: you are an active participant, not a passive recipient
- Grounded in evidence-based modalities (CBT, ACT, DBT, trauma-informed approaches)
- Attentive to your identity, culture, and lived experience
- Honest: we challenge with warmth, not judgement

How psychology services work at Eat Love Live
Available in person in Collingwood or via telehealth across Australia.
Your Initial Assessment
All therapeutic relationships begin with an initial assessment to understand your health history, your relationship with food, your life circumstances, and your goals.
There’s no fixed number of assessment sessions—a thorough picture sometimes takes more than one conversation before moving into planning and strategies. Please note that the initial assessment fee applies to your first appointment only; subsequent sessions that form part of your assessment are charged at the standard review rate.
After your assessment, your clinician will spend additional time formulating your care plan, connecting with any existing treatment team members, and completing relevant documentation. This work is reflected in the higher cost of initial appointments.
Review Sessions
Review sessions are where the ongoing work happens—adjusting strategies, tracking progress, troubleshooting what’s not working, and planning what comes next. Your clinician will discuss the most appropriate review frequency during your initial assessment.
Integrated Care
Where relevant, your psychologist coordinates with your dietitian, physiotherapist, GP, or other practitioners, so your care is coherent and consistent across the team.
Session fees
Sessions are 50 minutes of client-facing time, booked as 60 minutes in the calendar.
That additional time is when your clinician writes notes, liaises with your care team, and prepares for future sessions.
Initial Assessment – $270
Standard Review – $255
We do not bulk bill. A gap payment applies to all Medicare and NDIS sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
You might be wondering...
Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
No referral is required to book directly. However, if you’d like to access Medicare rebates, you’ll need a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP), or Eating Disorder Management Plan (EDMP) arranged by your GP before your first appointment.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends entirely on what you bring and what you want from therapy. Your psychologist will discuss a realistic plan at your initial assessment. There is no pressure to commit to a particular number of sessions upfront.
How does the session structure work?
Sessions are 50 minutes of direct time with your clinician, booked as a 60-minute appointment. The additional time covers care coordination and documentation that happens on your behalf. For full details on fees, rebates, and how sessions work, visit our Fees & Policies page.
Is Telehealth available?
Yes. We offer Telehealth psychology sessions for clients across Australia. Medicare rebates apply to Telehealth sessions in the same way as in-person appointments.
Can I access psychology through NDIS?
Psychology may be NDIS-fundable when aligned with your support plan goals. Check individual clinician profiles for NDIS availability. A gap payment applies to all NDIS sessions.
What if I’ve had a bad experience with therapy in the past?
We’re sorry to hear that, and acknowledge your courage in wanting to give therapy another go!. Not all therapy, or therapists, are the same. Our psychologists work from a genuinely non-stigmatising, weight-inclusive framework, and they won’t make assumptions about your experience or your body. If after your first session it doesn’t feel right, we’ll help you find a better fit.
